Hi guys, sorry for not being very active over the last few months. I do reply to emails and I help new users and current users when necessary, which on its own takes about 20-30mins/day. I see a lot of interesting ideas here on the forum. My plan is to do a revision and delete non-functional blocks/...

Hi guys, if you have registered for this forum, approval is required. Please send me an email at jachym.brzezina@gmail.com and I will approve you. I tried various recaptchas from google, custom questions etc. etc... nevertheless, the bots are still smarter than these mechanisms. I receive on average...

Block updates
Hi guys,
I updated two blocks:
- current conditions U.S.
- tides and currents U.S.
Both these blocks should now be fully functional again. More updates to come - follow the blog.
Enjoy

PHP 8.0 incompatible
Hi guys, this is just to let you know, unfortunately the current version of MT is incompatible with the newest PHP 8.0. First of all, my provider does not yet provide it, which makes it difficult for me to test and fix. Second, more importantly, there really is a lot of changes and the code breaks a...

Hi,
yes, this is realistic. I can include this in the new template, drop me an email and we can try to make this work for you now, so that you dont have to wait for a new version.

Re: Meteotemplate - future - major redesign
Hi guys, just a quick update. I am working on the new template. I do admit I hoped the work would go faster, but unfortunately due to various circumstances it goes slower - I was recovering from COVID, I have more work in my daily job given many ppl are on home-office and we operate with limited sta...

Hi,
I understand it is a bit difficult to change the MT font, but there was a very good reason for migrating standard png files to svg system. Glad you solved it.

Re: Meteotemplate - future - major redesign
Hello Jachym, 100% agree with the direction you are suggesting. Less is better but it is nice to have the option for homepages for desktops / tablet / phone - but as you said ultimately its that data we are after. It would also be great if the data could come straight from our sensors. eg my weathe...

Re: Import data from weatherlink s/w
Hi,
the v2 API is buggy, rain data does not work, so I decided not to use it until they fix this. Many developers reported this issue too. I have a script ready, but the rain data is not transferred because it is always 0 in the API.

Re: Meteotemplate - future - major redesign
Hi thanks for your feedback. With regards to WeeWx, there is a plugin already. If a built-in support was desired then you have to contact weewx developer. I did that with WeatherDisplay and Meteobridge, so those two software products have a native support. Similarly I contacted Steve, Cumulus develo...

Re: Meteotemplate - future - major redesign
Hi Bob, thanks for your feedback. Yes, indoor parameters will definitely be maintained, the future version will extend support for extra sensors and also make the data from them more visible. IN summary, the future should be more about weather. This means two things. First - more features related to...

Hi,
try using a relative path
eg:
../../realtime.txt
Depending on the relative path to your file from the update.php.

Meteotemplate - future - major redesign
Hi guys, some time ago I posted a link to a questionnaire regarding a possible redesign of MT: http://www.meteotemplate.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=15&p=9450#p9450 This post is going to be rather long, but I want to make sure we find the best possible solution that will work both for me and for you. Re: Plugin WLIP
Hi, I prepared a second version of this plugin that uses the API v2. The problem however is that rain does not work and when I did some research I found this is a bug in the WL API. The reported rain is always null.... it has been discussed by other developers on other forums, not much we can do... ...

Feedback wanted - your chance to give opinion
Hi guys, I have said in the past that I am thinking of redesigning MT from scratch. Now it is your turn to tell me what it should look like. Or rather I should say give me some general ideas about your priorities and what you want. I prepared a questionnaire and welcome your replies: https://docs.go...

Re: Darksky
Hi Jay,
it wont "go away", for example the NWS block is not affected by this. The only issue is that DarkSky provided the most detailed and accurate forecast from the global providers. This was used for the global forecast built-in to the main template. So regional forecasts will remain working.

Hi guys, looks like we have, unfortunately, another problem. In the history of MT I have changed the data source for forecasts 3 times already, always trying to find the best free option. Unfortunately, the current global trend is to discontinue all free products or reduce them to bare minimum, some...

Re: Is Meteotemolate still being actively developed?
Hi guys, yes I am still working on MT, behind the scenes sort of... it might seem like there is no further active development. The thing is, I devote about 45-60mins/day on this. However, I get about 3-4 new users daily and about 10-15 emails asking for support. This is something I deal with as a pr...

Re: Many bad user records in Usermap.txt for UserMap block
Hi Justin, I know about this and there are two possible reasons - one is that the site really no longer exist, the other is that some users often change their template URL - eg. they change URL with each version (not a very good idea, but it is true) or because they first test it on some subdomain, ...
Re: Tides
Hi guys, I looked at the page and I had to delete both the block and the plugin. Even though the URL remained the same, the format of the page is completely different as well as Terms and conditions. I was unable to find any free API that would provide similar data in a machine-readable format and t...

Re: API SQL Commands Drive High Server Resouces Utilization
Hi, this is something I fixed (or at least thought I did) in v 17.0. However, I just realized this command is executed at two places in the code and I only fixed one. This will be changed in v17.3. I do not recommend deleting the line completely, there is a very important reason for having it, howev...
