Re: Block names in menuBlock
Thank you Jachym!
Unfortunately, the names still don't show up in the menu when I open it. I've downloaded the current language file for German and I'm on v17. Where am I doing it wrong? Do I need to remove and re-install the blocks?
Cheers
Chris

Re: Block names in menuBlock
The blocks I use and their German translations are: radarDE - Regenradar Deutschland radarNL - Regenradar Niederlande lightning - Gewitterradar windRose - Windrose/Windrichtung dayPie - Kreisdiagramm Tageswerte dailyDeviations - Abweichungen (täglich) Thanks a lot Jachym! That's very helpful and I c...

Block names in menuBlock
Hello all, I've shrunk my one-column mobile page by sectioning and grouping certain blocks into menuBlocks, which works nicely. If I understand the wiki correctly, the names for the blocks in a menuBlock are auto-translated (if possible). This seems to work for some of the block names (like 'riset' ...

Re: Reolink webcam / other model?
Hello John, thanks for your reply. Your cam seems to do exactly what I want to do - display the latest images at one-minute intervals. I might use the timelapse and archive later on, but for now I'd be happy with a reliable upload of single frames. It's good to see that the G3 can do just that. My M...

Reolink webcam / other model?
Hi all, I have a Reolink 411WS running as a security cam and I though about converting it into a weather cam. The camera can upload JPGs at a frequent interval into a subfolder of my template. However, it will upload another picture every minute with another name, i.e. after 60 minutes I have 60 dif...

Re: Power Outages
The Pro will spool a certain amount of data for uploading. Once that spooling memory fills up, it will clip the oldest data, but they will remain in the internal storage an can be retrieved for manual upload. I find my MB Pro to be a bit touchy to outages as it will sometimes reboot, sometimes it wo...

Re: template hosting problem
Thanks Jachym, the small forwarding file works much faster than the internal forwarding settings of my ISP, which randomly kills CSS for (equally random) files.

Re: New member from Wachtendonk, Germany
Hello Pol-Brieuc, the site is still experimental and I haven't published it yet. I took it apart and kept what I wanted. Somewhere in the process the language selector died because of how it would always sit in my site logo. The mobile page still has it. I think I'll bring it back once the page is p...

Re: Multiple graph block idea
Perhaps a few more ideas why I like combined graphs so much: Whenever we discuss weather, we usually can't look at isolated parameters (wind speed, direction, temp, hum etc.) as they change all at the same time, impacting our local conditions. I've always been fascinated by how those parameters inte...

Re: Multiple graph block idea
Phew, I've looked at the code and most of it goes wayyyyyy above my head. So no chance of modifying that. I tried duplicates of the dynamicGraph block, but somehow it handles only the first request and leaves the remaining blocks empty. But I love the compact plotting style in the narrow/mobile vers...

Re: warningsDE - local level filter
Thanks for chewing this over. I see your point. Once you go local on one block and once country, it will be demanded for all blocks and data sources. Until I figure out how to tweak the JSON feed, I worked my way around it by using the dynamicImage block to display state warning levels (sectioned in...

New member from Wachtendonk, Germany
Hi all, just a short into from me here. I'm Chris, 39, from Wachtendonk, in the very far west of Germany. I'm currently setting up the relaunch of Wachtendonkwetter http://www.wachtendonkwetter.de/template , which I'm planning to publish in early 2018. I had a Vantage Pro 2 + Meteohub + Typo3 setup ...

warningsDE - local level filter
Hi all, I've been playing around with the warningsDE block, which I like because it uses the DWD as a reliable data source. However, when you hit the "more" button, the block explodes into a list of one zillion warnings, because DWD issues detailed warnings on a district and municipality l...

Re: German - Capitalization in blocks
Thanks for the explanation. I thought the caps were tied to the translations, and I certainly understand that this is tricky to handle for all those languages (and different capitalization rules) the template offers.

Re: German - Capitalization in blocks
Hi, thanks for the reply. I'd been through the whole translation threads, but still couldn't figure out why the blocks inconsistently return small initials on words correctly translated (as displayed in the translations section). I think I'll take the block off for now then.
Cheers

Re: Customize /disable mobile menu
Thanks for the hint. First and foremost, I was worried about altering the code. However, I have a sneaking suspicion that the changes would need to be made in the indexMobile.php, right? The header.php seems to define font sizes and does a lot of tech stuff for the interactive banner, but it does no...

German - Capitalization in blocks
Hi all, I noticed that in quite a few blocks the translations have no capital initials, although they show up correctly translated in the "Translation" section. The calendar block is an example here. Apart from the grammar stuff (NiedrigsteR wind), the nouns all have small initials, such a...

Re: Customize /disable mobile menu
Hi there, thanks a lot for the hint. Renaming menu.php did just what you described - it killed the menu and so far I could not find any further effects on the single-column page. I totally second your idea that one column is definitely enough. It's compact, it's zippy and looks great. Mobile view is...

Customize /disable mobile menu
Hi folks, I'm new to the forum and will shortly be starting a weather site at www.wachtendonkwetter.de. I am currently setting up the mobile version and would like to make it a plain vanilla vertical sequence of blocks. Period. No need for a menu, or at least not the trillion options it offers. Is t...
