Re: UK Warnings Block

Hi John, I think you are seeing the previously cached data. Nonetheless I have updated the block, so that it starts closed ( to be consistent with the behaviour of the other warning blocks ) Hi Davidefa, thanks for the updated version, as you say it's now opens collapsed. But the previous version y...

WessexWeather wrote: Sat Jan 23, 2021 11:52 am Apparently the errors are due to an error caused by the retirement of Adobe Flash, which has affected submission of the warnings from the Met Office to Meteoalarm. A fix is underway as we speak, so hang in there!
The dreaded Flash, thanks Simon.

Re: UK Warnings Block

Hi Davidefa, Thank you for the fix on the Weather Warnings block for the UK, I downloaded your block update, although it does work, it lists all weather warnings for the entire United Kingdom, selecting a specific area like 'se' for south-east does not unfortunately work. I will continue to use it, ...

Re: New menu tab not showing up on mobile devices

Hi PCW, The 'WX Sat and Tropical Storms' menu shows up on my PC, but as you mention does not show up on my Android mobile or my iPad. Just a thought, did you click on the 'Update Menu' button after you created the new menu item 'WX Sat and Tropical Storms'? I'm guessing you have as it's showing up o...

Re: Migrating to a new host

Hi Gatewayy, In a few weeks I will be attempting the same thing, I wondered if I could simply copy the contents of my folder with FileZilla, in my case watfordweather.uk, then simply upload the same content to the same folder on the new hosting site. Then once it's uploaded, change the name servers ...

Re: Web Hosting

Hi Andy, Namecheap are in Phoenix, Arizona, I pay a little extra to use servers based in the UK. The webcam block I'm using has no option to delete older images, neither does the Bloomsky plugin. Here's a few simple sites I've made, some are Wordpress, some are made with my old Serif software, I'm s...

Re: Web Hosting

Hi Andy, For what it's worth I use a company called Namecheap who only come in at number 19 on the hostingfacts website with two stars. Re: 10-9-2018 Oklahoma Tornado outbreak

You sound very experienced in what do in these bad weather experiences - even food and water. Coincidently I also built a tiny little solar array earlier this year (same battery power as you) enough to power modems, weather dongles, switchers and so on. That said, it's very rare we get power cuts he...

Re: 10-9-2018 Oklahoma Tornado outbreak

Hi Andy,

That all sounds pretty scary, but a good read as well, glad to hear you're all okay. Do all your neighbours have storm shelters? How long did you have to stay in your shelter for? It's a shame that the 'power poles' also carry the telephone/com cables as well.
