Video Block Not Working
I changed my method of constructing time lapse videos using FFMPEG and wanted to update the 'videos' block on my homepage (www.boulderweather.org) I found that I could no longer edit the settings and received a '505' error. So refreshing my memory by reading the wiki on blocks, I updated from 17.0 t...

Re: New User from Boulder, Colorado, USA
Andy THANK YOU. I think the Meteotemplates are great, but sometimes the learning curve is steep! Jachym is extremely helpful and easy to reach via e-mail. I have 3 websites using the same weather data, but each using a different template setup: www.boulderweather.org uses Meteo www.boulderwx.com use...

Re: Stickers Plugin and Forum Profile
I just prepared a sticker and thought I'd try a post to see if it shows up. If it doesn't then I have a problem to work on. Also, has anyone gotten stickers to work in Outlook 2016? It's straightforward to enter a link but I have not been able to get the sticker to "show" in my signature i...

Re: NOAA Weather Radio Template Suggestion
Jachym: The streams are available from www.noaaweatherradio.org Ken True of Saratoga Templates has a design for his system which I use at www.boulderwx.com/wxradio.php. He has provided a "generic" php script that anyone can copy & use also. I have added the stream that I provide to noa...

Re: installation issue using cron
I use Cumulus MX to run my Meteotemplate website too. I think Johnny has given good instructions on how to get things setup. One thing I might add is to check your updatesettings.php file to make certain that you have the full path to the folder for realtime.txt, including the http part, e.g., http:...

NOAA Weather Radio Template Suggestion
NOAA broadcasts weather forecasts, observations and various local warnings via radio at several frequencies near 162.5 Mhz. These require a special, but low-cost radio receiver. Because the radio broadcasts are via low power transmitters they reach only the local area often only 1 per County, but th...

Re: Another Webcam Problem
I must say I feel like a dolt, asking this question. I did not realize that the instructions were included under the description of the plugin! I've been getting by with just forging ahead. Setup was easy once I actually read all the way to the end of the page! I guess it's a testimony to how well J...

Another Webcam Problem
I've read some of the forum threads on the webcam problems of others and I seem to have one of my own. I installed the plugin and edited the settings so that an image.jpg file from my other website would be brought over, saving the trouble of having to do 2 FTP's from my home server. This works and ...

Re: Webcams plugin.
So I was in the process of setting up my webcam page plugin and noticed this discussion. As regards setting up the CRON job .... I've been doing this for update.php for the Meteo site, I also use Task Scheduler in Windows to upload images and time lapse videos to my other sites. For the home page we...

Re: IDEA for New Plugin: Aurora Forecast
Found the link to the icons in the text of the page describing new tab with three data blocks to fill in. Maybe just my choice of font but it was difficult to locate. Works great though. Nothing for Aurora seems quite right so I'll stay with images for now. I've put up both Northern & Southern h...

Re: IDEA for New Plugin: Aurora Forecast
One question though...is there some way to see the icons (used in the menu under the tab) within the control panel? The various icons are in the icon folder but looking at them from within the webhosting control panel shows a difficult to recognize image. I used an image file instead.

Yes indeed that does it! Did you do this yourself or did I miss it among the plugins? I have another site (www.boulderwx.com) that uses the Saratoga templates and I was going to construct an Aurora page for that today.

Re: Wind Direction + Wind Speed?
That might be the issue, although it seems the actual database data does not show that very well as there is little data that has zero speed. In fact I found it surprising that the wind speed data almost never went to an actual value of zero instead recorded fractions of a mph. Likewise my Davis dis...

Wind Direction + Wind Speed?
I'm using CumulusMX on a PC with a DAVIS VP2. I have the Davis Display sitting next to the PC so I can keep an eye on things. Since installing Meteotemplates at boulderweather.org I've noticed a behavior that seems odd: When windspeed goes to zero, direction goes to North, at least in the Windrose b...

IDEA for New Plugin: Aurora Forecast
I am very impressed by the number of plugins that are available in Meteo covering space & earth sciences. One addition to the great lineup would be an Aurora Borealis Forecast. There is one available from NOAA showing a good map from directly above the north pole of the hemisphere here: http://s...

Re: CPU Usage Question
I think this maybe is a non-problem. As I have watched it the CPU Usage % has steadily dropped. Perhaps it was high because I was doing a lot of work on the site. BTW, I have to congratulate you! The amount of work (and intelligence!) it must have required is extraordinary. You should be truly proud...

Server CPU time of my hosting service. I have not paid much attention to this in the past, but noticed in the last week it has shot up. There is a color indicator when you go over your limit and it turned red!

CPU Usage Question
I have only setup the Meteotemplates website www.boulderweather.org in the last few days. I have two other websites at the same host which use the Saratoga templates and another that uses the weather34.com templates. My CPU usage had been quite low and unremarkable. The CPU usage has now increased t...

Re: Home Page Loading
The difference between "hosting server" and "server" is still unclear. I took the (Debian Linux) hosting server to be the one the templates was residents of. In any event the test called for in the Wiki seemed to reinforce that idea. The hosting people have consistently expressed...

Yes it was a surprise to me also. Before I implimented the Templates on my host, I asked the Tech Support folks if it was an Apache server; this is the ambiguous answer I received: "Thank you for contacting our Technical Support Department. The OS on the hosting server is Debian GNU/Linux. Apac...

Re: New User from Boulder, Colorado, USA
Yes it can be beautiful here in the mountains and Brainard lake is my favorite place to take visitors as it sits at the base of the Indian Peaks. Thos peaks surround a small glacier which feeds water to Boulder. It's great to hike up there as there are several lakes as you climb (all with trout). Bu...

The line of code in the .htaccess is: DirectoryIndex index.php This refers to a file in the root of the server of course, not in the /template/ path. The contents of the index.php file is based on the one (index.txt) in the "Wiki", except that I have changed the url reference to the path o...
