WeatherLink 6.0.3 - Wind Direction on Import

Post by RobF » Wed Nov 08, 2017 2:02 pm

I am able to import WeatherLink software data by exporting and doing a little formatting in Excel. However, the Wind Direction field is filled with alpha characters, such as; N, NE, SSW, etc. So they go in blank in the database.

I have WeatherDisplay uploading data every 5 minutes with data that it gets from WeatherLink.com which is great, except the wind gusts are not included in the data it provides to WeatherDisplay. WeatherDisplay does upload numerical data for the wind direction which the database accepts.

My WeatherLink software is able to get the wind gust data hourly from WeatherLink.com, so I plan to manually update the database so it has the gusts in the station history. But if I do that it erases the wind direction that WeatherDisplay added.

Is there a way to UPADTE the database from a CSV and just update the wind gusts field?

Hi,
no, unfortunately all the import scripts are built in such a way that they only allow importing "everything" at once

I guess I may export the wind direction info from the DB and edit the column in my Excel. Then import everything back in with correct gusts data.

Of course I can see doing that for a while, then as time goes on I'd start to let it go...

yes, if you combine them in Excel and export as CSV it should work
