I am considering adding a soil temp sensor to my Davis wireless Vantage Pro 2 station.
I see in the station setup section of WD that I can add and specify how WD adds the soil temp (temp1, temp3, temp5) to its database.
I am using WD API to send data to my Meteotemplate website.
Questions:
Assuming Weather Display will insert this additional field into its data packet, how will it be handled in MT?
Assuming that WD does its job correctly, I'm guessing that I would just have to map that particular data point to the correct field in Meteotemplate MySQL database.
I have looked at the 'soil' block and it displays more information than I will provide it. I am not adding leaf moisture and will only have 1 temp sensor, although I could easily add another one or two. I don't see a SS Gauge for soil temp. I really like the SS Gauges, they're sharp looking. Are there any other options for displaying an extra temp sensor?
Advice?
Anyone see a problem with this? Is anyone currently doing this.
thanks for your wisdom.

Re: Adding Soil Temp sensor
Hi
WD supports MT directly. It know what to do with the soil temperature data and how to send it to MT. MT finds this new value. Then you need to go to Control panel, select Extra sensors and you should see possibility to enable the soil temperature (MT will suggest it if it finds in the file sent by WD). Then once this is done it will start logging the new sensor data to database and can be used with the block available for it.
