Light Pollution block

Post by Steve Harpin » Tue May 22, 2018 9:16 pm

Jachym, is there any chance of some collaboration with Junj Stare to develop his light pollution project for use as a block or plugin in the Astronomy section? The info section is here https://www.lightpollutionmap.info/help.html I have emailed the guy to see what he might be induced to offer in the way of script advice

This is what Jurij Stare had to say in a follow up email to me

"Hi Steve,

My API only has the ability to get you various floating point values from
a selected raster by a location query.
But If he wants to use my WMS services directly then we need to talk,
because it could potentially involve large amounts of bandwidth data.

Best regards,
Jurij "

I have already embedded a location-focussed page in a test folder outside my template but it looks like there could be some mileage in talking to this guy. His email is starej@t-2.net if you feel like following it up. Could be an awesome plugin for the future
My test page is http://the9libraries.org.uk/test/light% ... ution.html

Hi Steve,

the problem is that as he mentioned it could be a major server load and I cannot tell how large because MT pages are not hosted on my server
