Post by davidefa » Wed Mar 02, 2022 12:40 am

ver 0.8
Preliminary release. A plugin derived from Growing Degree Days plugin ( similar look/usage ).
Useful for fruit trees growing.

ver 0.9
- added 'dynamic model' chill hours calculation
- corrected 'utah model' calculation
- added short explanation of methods

P.S.
To add to your menu you can use the following:

Code: Select all

The wording in the plugin setup is wrong: you need to set only the starting month of the chilling season ( September or October in northern hemisphere ).
The original document reports temperature thresholds in °F, but you can have your data in °C or °F it will be converted automatically.
For the menu you can use the following setting:

Code: Select all

Chill Hours|plugins/chillHours|plugins/chillHours/ch.png
Or to access directly: https://www.sint-katelijne-waver-meteo.be/template/plugins/chillHours/index.php
Uploaded an updated version ( with few corrections ).

P.S.
Thanx for testing. As I don't have a test dataset to verify the calculation, I'm not 'super confident' of the results ( particularly for the newly added 'dynamic model' ).

interesting stuff,

did some reading about it, but need to digg deeper,
as I could use this also in my allotment.

For the plugin to appear in the menu as a normal plugin, what do I need to do exactly?
(sorry I'm not a wizzkid when comes to php, but I 'm trying to, learn.

your new version seems to work with your tips, but did not verification until now.

thx

Edit your menu and add a line similar to the previously posted one ( in my case I added to submenu 'weather station' between degree days and growing degree days )
