Greek translation

Post by nkolaosp » Wed Feb 13, 2019 6:09 pm

There seem to be quite a few errors in the Greek translation. Mainly mistakes in spelling and quite a few missing accents. How could I help with the translation?

If you want you can make the changes and send them to Jachym.
The language files are in the map: /lang/ (i think gr.php is the file for Greek.

This is the file I see when I download the Greek language files. It is virtually impossible to translate.

Maybe too late for this but here is what you can do.

When you go to the translations section and choose the language then you can scroll down to see all the translated strings. This is a straight translation from English to Greek. There are few strings that may need some language refining but not many.

I guess that you are more concerned about the correct grammar and syntax when these strings get combined for example to create the forecast text or other longer pieces of information. This is a little bit more tricky and I also haven't found the right way to do it.

In any case, if there are any changes that you want to make in the existing strings or you feel that more strings need to be added then please provide your list to Jachym. He is the keyholder of the translation database.

In the meantime I'll also try to quickly find my notes of two years ago about few things that I thought need further work.

It would be great to combine some knowledge and move this forward,

thanks
