Impressive storm!
I never thought that such low pressures and such strong winds could ever develop in the heart of Europe.
The strongest wind I ever had in my life was 110Km/h and that was already very frightening, I can hardly imagine 170Km/h or above!
I do hope that all those "hurricane" winds will not result in any casualties, and will just produce the minimum of material damages.

Snezka (highest peak), so far verified 177km/h, most likely will increase as this is a measurement from the morning

This year (September and October) has definitely been a windy one for Europe, especially when compared to previous years.

True, last October was quite the contrary here, rather dry and cold with only slight winds.
Here in Northern Germany we have been hit badly by the two storms "Xavier" and "Herwart", the first one was a fast moving storm which passed within a few hours, but had severe wind gusts up to hurricane strength (118 kph+ / 72 mph+) which caused rail services to be cancelled for a few days.

Second storm lasted longer (almost a whole day) and caused a storm tide here and fallen trees.
Highest gust here in town was 115 kph during the passage of storm "Herwart".
