interactive graph version 11.9 and Solar Radiation

Post by Gary » Thu Jan 11, 2024 2:31 pm

Hi,

I have been using the interactive graph block for some time and I really like it. I am currently using version 11.9
Today I added a Solar Radiation Sensor to my Weather station. I can see the Solar Radiation data correctly in the Current Conditions block and the Station Data block. The Station Data block shows data for the Solar Radiation Sensor as of today with no data displayed for "yesterday" or before and this is correct as the sensor was only installed today.

However the interactive graph block shows data for days before today as shown below:

If I select "month" option interactive graph shows more "data" - even though the sensor was only installed today - 11th January.

I also notice that unlike the other sensor data the "Key" for Solar Radiation and Solar Max is missing from the graph too.

I did try several other older versions of the interactive graph block but they either had the same issue as above or got worse as shown below for version 11.4c where Solar Radiation was selected but "Humidity" is showing on the graph.

Maybe this last point is a red herring as version 11.4c is very old.

Maybe I did something wrong with the setup - I just enabled the sensor in the block as per all the other sensors and cleared the cache on the host side. I checked the log files and no data for the Solar sensor has been logged before today, so I don't know where this data is coming from.

Any advice on how to fix this would be very helpful.

Thank you!

You forgot another question:
why did you buy a solar sensor if your station is capable of 'generating solar data' by itself?

You only miss the legend ( as you noted ) under the graph, the yellow data is a calculated 'max radiation' the orange data ( available only from 13:00 ) is the real sensor data ( so no free lunch : - (.
I see your legend disappears also for humidity and pressure graph ( and don't know why ).
Could you post/pm me your block configuration ( the file homepage/blocks/interactiveGraph/settings.php ) so I can take a look?

P.S.
The calculated max radiation is not an 'hard limit' and may happen that your sensor reads a value larger than the 'max' ( for example when the sun shines 'between the clouds' there is a peak due to clouds reflecting the light back )
