Sprites, elves and jets

This is an interesting news item about studying what goes on above a thunderstorm, you may have heard the term Sprites, but I'd not heard the term Elves and Jets. Scientists have put a new bit of kit called the Atmosphere-Space Interactions Monitor (ASIM) on board the International Space Station to study this phenomena in more detail.
