My fears have been confirmed. Since yesterday, the Netatmo plugin made by “davidefa” has stopped working.
The error message is: “Access token expired”.
Davide's selfless and efficient work was wasted by Netatmo's requirements.
We, the users of these stations, need Davide's active participation in the forum again.

netatmo have been the worst for external data support that I have ever encountered with any sensor brand/type.
Even their API changes the last 2 years have been entirely useless for what was intended by them. It's like their developers are not giving a sh*t about people's data, pushing through drastic changes without any user-demand.
I have switched to ecowitt, just as cheap, offers way better support and has proper data-processing we can all use.
We own and use 2 netatmo suites where I live and they have become vendor-only devices, pretty sad that such companies still exist. They're going against what all other weather stations are moving towards; Open up access to their data-storage and processing.

I totally share your opinion about Netatmo.
I am also thinking about buying an “Ecowitt” station. While I make a decision, I will keep trying to find a solution to the plugin.
Best regards.

I am still looking for a solution to the Netatmo server access problem. In the Netatmo forum, one of the users, has managed to successfully connect and insert the measurement data into his WordPress website.
https://www.blombergsbatsallskap.se/
He makes the PHP script available to the users.
My PHP programming knowledge is null. But one of the " savants " of this forum or Jachym himself could try to apply it to the Meteotemplate plugin.
Thanks in advance.

Hi.
I use Weatherdisplay with netatmo.
Weatherdisplay has a buildt in token maker that starts when weatherdisplay starts.
It looks like netatmo still works with weatherdisplay.
Don´t ask me why.

Hello.
In addition to not getting the plugin to work, I also have doubts about which is the better decision. Spend money buying an Ecowitt station or, spend much less money installing Weather Display.
I don't like the conditions imposed by Netatmo to non-developer users.
Best regards.

Dont know how long wetherdisplay will work.
But weatherdisplay also makes "clientraw" files.
Why can´t clientraw files be used in stead of the netatmo api?

That is because WD uses the netatmo site login itself, not the api, as far as I can see. This means you'll have a 5 to 10 minute delay of your weather-data showing though.

I can live with that.
Thanks.

After some time of reflection, I have made up my mind.
I have rejected Weather Display because it has some problems on Raspberry Pi. I have given up on continuing to look for a solution for the Netatmo plugin.
I just received an Ecowitt Wittboy. Before I start testing, I am reading everything I can find about setting it up and using it with Metetemplate. But, it is a pity that "davidefa" has disappeared from the forum.
I hope to have the help of other experts who are still participating.
Thanks in advance.

I too have gone this route. ecoWitt is taking over the netatmo market, as far as I can see. Its sensors are of a more sturdy build quality, more accurate, except for the digital rain-meter, but they have
an extra one that is analog which you can add to your ecowitt gateway. Either way, the ecowitt sensors are way cheaper,
SO MUCH easier to set up, and the app is beautiful. It could learn a little from netatmo in how they visualize widgets on mobile, but that's about the only complaint I have against ecowitt.
Fact stands: For the cost of a netatmo weather station and extra netatmo sensors, you can have triple the amount of ecoWitt sensors, which are generally better to configure, easier to talk to and store or show data from.
Really sad how netatmo has ruined their chance of dominating the consumer weather-station market in this dumb manner. They could have done a LOT better, just not messing with their interfaces and open-sourcing their data aggregation models and apis.
Just to show their own dashboard, and how easy they've made it to share data:

I fully agree with your opinion.
In my case, besides continuing to use Meteotemplate, I am using weewx with the Bechelrtown skin.
I am going to explore Cumulus as well.
I am not an expert, but I am retired and I can decide how to use my time.
Best regards

I'm trying to setup NetatmoNet pluging.
It works only for a few hours and after that it stop working
I think the issue is related to the token renewal
Does someone have identified a possible solution ?
Thanks
Marco

I have not. We still have 2 netatmo base stations with a lot of extra units active, but its data is now only visible to us through the (annoying) netatmo apps and their (user-unfriendly) website. We tried to sell it, but nobody seems to want to pay even 20% for second hand used weather station stuff made by netatmo/legrand. I can understand why.
I plan to re-install weewx and
https://pwsdashboard.com/ to access netatmo data. Another route I was thinking of involves domoticz and its plugins, which has many people
working on netatmo support, and then somehow get domoticz graphs and displays, which are pretty cool actually, to transfer to a public site.
I think the domoticz route is the one I will be most succesful with, because I already have that running at home (without netatmo now), so I'll be trying that. It has enormous and active support for weather-data, and many users that also have netatmo devices in their (smart) homes, so that should be promising.
But this needs time, and I have not yet been able to do any of this.
I'm sad to say, however good the meteotemplate setup looks and works, I will probably drop it altogether after converting to weewx and domoticz.

Hi all
thanks to davidefa for the support and minor changes just applied including the update of new api.netatmo domain, in attach you can find the script that is perfectly working
Setting1 has to be copied into the plugin folder with the right token obtained from
https://dev.netatmo.com/apps/
