Hi,

I try to setup the yr.no part in the forecast block.

I see that you have to put the URL like this :

https://www.yr.no/place and you have to find the place to the yr.no site.

But it seems the site have change because you can't find https://www.yr.no/place

I find this for my place : https://www.yr.no/en/forecast/daily-tab ... ce/Leernes

But if I try : https://www.yr.no/place/Belgium/Walloni ... ce/Leernes it is not working.

How do you find the correct URL ?

1. goto yr.no
2. in the searchbox enter your town or city (lets say Amsterdam)
3. Click on the link that matches your hometown
4. look at the addressbar, it looks like:

https://www.yr.no/en/forecast/daily-table/2-2759794/Netherlands/North%20Holland/Gemeente%20Amsterdam/Amsterdam

5. select the part:

Code: Select all

Netherlands/North%20Holland/Gemeente%20Amsterdam/Amsterdam

6. remove all the extra info so you get

Code: Select all

Netherlands/North%20Holland/Amsterdam

(the format is country/ province/city)
7. Paste this part in the setup of the block so it looks like this:

Code: Select all

https://www.yr.no/place/Netherlands/North%20Holland/Amsterdam/forecast.xml

or in your case:

Code: Select all

https://www.yr.no/place/Belgium/Wallonia/Leernes/forecast.xml

If all went well you see a forecast on your site.

But i got bad news. In the header of forecast.xml is a message:

This means that in the near future the block on all Meteotemplate sites will stop working, Jachym has to change the block to use JSON.

Did you suceed to have the correct value for rain ?

If yes, how do you do that ?

yes, i use WXSIM.
But i can't remember if i changed anything to make it work, but these are the values in the settings file:

$pathLatest = '../../../uploadwd/latest.csv';
$pathPlainText = '../../../uploadwd/plaintext.txt';
$categories = '0-4,4-8,8-12,12-16,16-20,20-24';

In the meteogram block setup you should insert:

Code: Select all

Leernes,Belgium/Wallonia/Leernes/

After chaging the setup you should always clear the cache ( otherwise you'll continue to see the previously cached data, this will lead you to think that every change you make takes no effect )

neither the forecast or meteogram blocks are getting the data file this happened about 3 days ago but was working again later in the day

My bad, I confused the forecast and the meteogram blocks.
Now I see the forecast from yr.no is not working

P.S.
It seems we have to update the block ( this is what I get ):

No, I'm not the author of the block, I've only done the same mod on the meteogram block. I've added to my todo list ( which is growing too rapidly )... so I won't hold the breath

ver 9.1
Updated to use Yr.No v2 api ( from next February 1st old xml format wont be supported anymore )
Need to rerun the setup ( as the location format changed, it is the same of meteogram block )
Format of YrNo location as following: Rome-Italy,lat=41.89193&lon=12.51133&altitude=20
( name,lat=xxx&lon=yyy&altitude=zzz )

Thanks for your effort! In my case:
Beersel-Belgium,lat=50.76218&lon=4.30322&altitude=75
works fine for meteogram, but unfortunately leaves the YR.no forecast black. Cache was emptied.

Any clue?

Could you provide the url of your site?
I tested your settings on my testing site and it works correctly, so there is something I don't understand completely.
Please, upload to the forecast block folder the attached script and run it ( homepage/blocks/forecast/forecastAjax1.php?service=yrNo&debug=9 ), I added only a few debug prints, it will not overwrite any script already present. What does it shows?

Ok, tanks for testing... could you replace the forecastAjax.php of the block with the attached one, delete the cache content, and try reloading the homepage/forecast block?
If it does not show correctly does it show any error in the firefox/chrome developer's console ( in firefox menu' Tools->Browser Tools->Web Developer Tools select the Console tab )?

Thanks! the YR part of the block is still black. Console says YR lodaing failure with result 500.
I'd really say leave it for what I'm concerened. Too much other things going on
