is it secured to host site outside the root/public_html dir?

I created a dir in the root and enabled No Indexing.

Should i be concerned on doing this?

yes mine can, works perfectly fine. i was curious if it would be security issue or not. i can't think of any

my main site is in the public_html dir, i have had the same host for 4 years now. added a domain and stuck it in the root dir.

thanks for the reply
