New User, Rochester UK
Hi!
New user using WeatherCat on a Mac with a WH 3080
My site is currently hiding at:
http://rochesterweather.org.uk/template ... esktop.php
until I iron out all the kinks.
Please can someone tell me why I'm getting some unloaded icon symbols on the home page?
Thanks in advance,
Yours,
Rich

Hi Rich,
the problem is that you have a Linux server and installed the template directly in server root. Linux servers have reserved "icons" folder, which is causing the issue.

Hi Rich,
Welcome to the forum!
Version 16 of meteotemplate didn't copy the icons folders when blocks were installed via the automatic way.
Today Jachym released a bugs-fix package which solves this problem.
Delete the blocks which have no icons loaded and install them again after you have copied the bugs-fix files to your server.

Thanks all!
As a primary school teacher I'm now on 1/2 term so am hoping to get a bit further developing my site (and correcting stupid mistakes I've made, like erasing files from the server)this week.
Cheers,
Rich

Re: New User, Rochester UK
Hi!
Jachym - I had read that note re linux servers which I knew I was on so did create the template folder to avoid it. This was perfect as it allows me to get my meteotemplate pages looking exactly as I want before I upload the index file - leaving WeatherCat's simple website as the default seen when visitors visit my page until I'm ready to swap. Meanwhile I can access the meteotemplate page as only I know the address (and you all now!)
Luc - that has sorted it thanks!
Slowly getting there....

Hi!
Please could someone have a look at http://rochesterweather.org.uk/template/index.php
I think I've messed up my index.php file somehow
http://rochesterweather.org.uk/template ... esktop.php works fine as does http://rochesterweather.org.uk/template/indexMobile.php although I've done very little with this so far!
Do I need to run config.php again?
Sorry to be a newbie nuisance!

Re: New User, Rochester UK
Hi!
I'm now happy (if not delighted!) by the look of my template homepage(s!) and I am almost ready to stop WeatherCat posting its own simple website and replace the index.html in my root direct to point to the template index.php
I have two issue first though, that perhaps someone could help me with:
When I typed the info into the Control Panel | Administration | Info Pages the links, Rochester Weather and location pages all displayed perfectly but the WH3080 page returned a blank screen. I thought I'd found a way around then issue when I discovered the myStation Plugin and have populated the settings for that page -http://rochesterweather.org.uk/template ... tation.php - but I still get a blank page! Any ideas?
Secondly, my donate button on the bottom of my homepage -http://rochesterweather.org.uk/template ... esktop.php - creates an Error Detected message on the PayPal site. I've recreated my button in their site and it returned the same code which I've triple checked in the Main Setup page but am now stumped for solutions!
Thanks for reading, and thanks in advance for any possible solutions!
Cheers,
Rich

Re: New User, Rochester UK
G'day, Rich,
Neither of those problems should bother you when switching sites.
The first is only an information 'page' and does not affect how Meteotemplate works.
The second is a problem with PayPal and you, not the site itself.
Did you remember to save your information after filling in the pages? Don't feel foolish if you didn't; I'll guarantee that more than one member here (including me) has forgotten to do that in the hurry to solve a problem.

I've gone live!
Interestingly the Info | Weather Station page of the mobile site picks up on the info I typed in the admin section (it obviously doesn't use the the myStation plugin). So it has to be a problem with the Desktop part of the site only.
