Block names in menuBlock

Post by ChrisBoom » Wed Dec 27, 2017 5:51 pm

Hello all,
I've shrunk my one-column mobile page by sectioning and grouping certain blocks into menuBlocks, which works nicely. If I understand the wiki correctly, the names for the blocks in a menuBlock are auto-translated (if possible). This seems to work for some of the block names (like 'riset' is properly translated into Sonnenauf/untergang). Some, however, remain untranslated and do not make much sense in German (like 'dayPie'). It's clear to us what that is, but many visitors of the site may have no clue.

Is there a way to name the blocks manually or at least append a German explanation on what they do?

Thanks and best regards
Chris

If they are not translated it means they are not in the language database, post them here and I will add them. You cannot do this manually.

The blocks I use and their German translations are:

radarDE - Regenradar Deutschland
radarNL - Regenradar Niederlande
lightning - Gewitterradar
windRose - Windrose/Windrichtung
dayPie - Kreisdiagramm Tageswerte
dailyDeviations - Abweichungen (täglich)

Thanks a lot Jachym! That's very helpful and I can make full use of the menuBlock functionality. It's a great feature that helps to keep the homepage compact.

Best regards
Chris

Thank you Jachym!

Unfortunately, the names still don't show up in the menu when I open it. I've downloaded the current language file for German and I'm on v17. Where am I doing it wrong? Do I need to remove and re-install the blocks?

Cheers
Chris
