Yes, it is possible, although you need to make sure the icons are clear enough and everyone understands them

Sometimes what seems clear to you might not be for all, I would recommend asking a few people if they can guess all of them

The hardest one is climate. I can not find a really really good mticon. Is it possible to add to the list of mticons?
For instance I like the telescope that is in the icon folder, but I do not know the name of the mticon it is called.

Thats because how do you want to clearly express "climate" as an icon

I like this one, but I do not know how to add it.

There is a similar one referred to as "weather". To be quite honest even yours doesnt really tell me it is climate. It is IMHO impossible to create an icon that would clearly mean "climate"

If you have the word "climate" and an icon like you suggested next to it, people will see it as appropriate. However there is no icon that would clearly express climate on its own.

Never any text in an icon - thats the whole point of icons, making them "international". This would only help you as an English-speaker, but probably not even that because think about the size of the icons on the page

I was going to change all of mine to icons, and after I was 50% done, I scrapped it and went back to the text. . .
It would be too challenging for my visitors to understand.

I actually did think about that, but when they click the icon, the drop down is pretty obvious. I just put it up as an idea. I like the very small header that presents now. If my viewer makes a mistake, you just click the the next icon. You don't even have to click back.
The most misleading icon is the climate one. There is a pretty good one alrealdy in the template, surroundings.png, but playing with every mticon name none of them hit that .png (not even weathercat.....really?? weathercat??....lol). I almost left it as weathercat just for jollies, but changed it to continentality even though that is not really close (it does have a map and some weather symbols).
Curious who uses weathercat though.

I went back and forth about whether to use the icons for the same reasons mentioned above. I would like for the name to pop up when the cursor hovers over it, but it does not.
In the end, I decided that I liked it with the cursor and since I may be the only person going to my site, I decided to do it the way I wanted to do it.

Also found out that WeatherCat is a weather software program for Macs.
So I am sorry if I offended any WeatherCat users.
I was ignorant.

Icons in the template dont use standard PNG/JPG image files, but CSS elements. This saves a lot of loading time, it can be scaled indefinitely because it is an SVG object with vector graphics. Those are the advantages. Disadvantages are that adding your own icon is very time-consuming, you would have to create your own SVG font with the icons converted to a vector object, then add this font in the header and connect it with all the pages. Not very easy and intuitive. There are pages which use normal icons as well (image files), mostly older pages in the template.

I relocated the 2 climate choices to other menus. One was station related anyway, and the climate map was not explained and was not relevant to me personally on a daily bases. Therefore, I eliminated the Climate tab.
