Secondo me per prima cosa dovremmo iniziare a migliorare tutti insieme tutto quel che riguarda la traduzione in Italiano
ci sono 12 nuovi vocaboli da tradurre ma sarebbe una buona idea prima fare ciò,sentire l'opinione di tutti
per esempio ci sono dei vocaboli in inglese che sarebbe meglio secondo me non tradurre
come ISS TRACKER oppure SETTING
oppure nella pagina "amministratore"
INSTALLAZIONE BLOCCO è orrendo io personalmente preferisco BLOCK SETUP come viene riportato anche per PLUGIN SETUP
questa è la mia opinione voi che ne pensate????

Sono d'accordo per la parte amministrativa, ho qualche dubbio invece sulla parte visibile al pubblico perchè noi che abbiamo fatto la maggior parte dello sviluppo del sito in inglese diamo ormai per scontate tante parole, ma l'utente normale trova difficoltà in alcuni termini inglesi.

Ciao qui metto come io ho pensato di tradurre le parole mancanti...
le ultime 3 lascio a voi i consigli
chiaramente aspetto modifiche e migliorie da parte vostra

One thing you need to keep in mind is that sometimes making a change in translation will result in it being incorrect elsewhere.

Example:

- average temperature
- average pressure
- average precipitation

In Czech the word average will have a different ending in each case above. However, the translation by the template is done like this:

translation of average + translation of (temp/pressure/precipitation)

So I had a person saying I should change it so that the ending for "average pressure" is correct. But if I do that, it will be incorrect elsewhere where it is used for example with temperature.

The translations are often used at several places, so it is impossible to match all context correctly. English is relatively simple so it works, but for other languages this might be a problem. In German for example, all nouns should be capitalized, but they are not in the template because it treats German like English, where you don't do this.

Probably yes, but here is another issue...

obviously it would be ideal to add as many phrases as possible, include all the versions of the word, however this creates another problem. People are then quite discouraged from translating anything. Especially new languages.

Imagine you speak language XYZ which is not yet included and you decide to start it. There is already 1900 phrases to translate... Italian as well as other languages have been available for quite a long time and when it was first added there were probably around 500 words. But if we keep on adding, this person trying to do the new translation would see an infinite list of translations and think "oh this is going to take ages" and not start it at all.

I can add "more info", but in general I try to add as little new words as possible and use what is already available

vorrei proporre una modifica alla traduzione di "rain rate".
Attualmente è:
rain rate -> quantità di pioggia
Mia proposta:
rain rate -> intensità della pioggia (con o senza articolo, vedete voi...)

"Quantità di pioggia" sarebbe chiaro se si specificasse "oraria", altrimenti mi fa pensare alla quantità "cumulata": consideriamo che i meno esperti magari non fanno caso se l'unità di misura è mm o mm/h . Intensità forse è più chiaro per tutti, e mi pare che sia anche il termine più usato quando si parla di mm/h.
In ogni caso mi rimetto ai più esperti
