What is AvgAbbr?

I see in the current conditions data windows shows four fields with Abbr, for example AvgAbbr. What does Abbr stand for? The only thing I can find when searching the Internet for Abbr is Abbreviation. If so, what are the fields AvgAbbr, MaximumAbbr, MinimumAbbr, and sdAbbr abbreviations for?

I can guess AvgAbbr is average temperature, and the Maximum and Minimum are also temperature averages. So does abbr mean abbreviation? Just overly curious, that all. :?

Update your language files via the Control panel, yours are outdated which is why it shows this. Or you did not select a language in the Main setup. These strings are supposed to be replaced by the real word (eg. avgAbbr = Avg)

I downloaded all the language file and ran the update via the control panel. However nothing happens. No flag in the upper left corner and no change in the language. I suspect one of the files needs to be updated, but I am not sure which one to go after.

I ran across this recently. If you are using WIN10 I.E. 11 it does not always save changes in Main Setup. I had to remember to only make changes in Firefox or Chrome. I am also using a WIN10 Developers edition so I don't know if it only pertains to my system. Just a thought.

Edit: One thing I just thought of is MS Edge which I almost never use. I do know Microsoft is pushing us to use
EDGE more but I just don't like it. I still have allot of software dependent on activeX which we are being pushed away from by Firefox and Chrome.

No matter what I have tried, it doesn't work. I was almost ready to try redoing the initial setup, but I was affraid if what I'd have to do to get my site up and running again. :(

I've started over I can't tell you how many times in the beginning. Just save all your settings. UA number, Lat-Long, and anything you see that needs remembering and erase the config.php. To be perfectly honest... most times I redid it I was wasting my time as main setup does a pretty good job. I just don't trust IE to do it for me anymore.

Edit: Looking at your site pretty quickly and not really reading back what your man issue is I don't see anything wrong and it looks pretty good to me. The only thing I see is your pulling watches/Warnings from 3 different source? Other than that it looks clean unless I'm missing something.

Ok reading up a bit I see what you mean. I did see abbr in the current and day light blocks. hmmm I don't know.
I see Jachym is already helping you with this.

Going through your site a bit more carefully I saw your "Near earth objects" block... when you try opening an event it opens and closes before you have a chance to read the event. Was using latest Firefox.

The problem(s) are as follows:
  • No flag in the upper left hand corner;
  • Can't change (switch) languages
I'm sure this has to do with the same error, but I sure aren't finding it and It is getting frustrating! :x

The flag issue is a header block issue. Try to just install only a new header block and edit Main setup again. Languages is beyond me as I've never had that issue. May be related to the header.php issue.

Most of these blocks are not intended to be modified outside of the main setup or as instructed in it's particular setup/config in php or txt format as alot of blocks are dependent on the api.php and the sql database. Changing one means having to change others which causes problems elsewhere.

I uploaded the original header.php file and it makes no difference. It was worth a try. Thanks for the suggestion. :?

I edited my post since I sent it to you. Check it if you haven't already.

In your case it may be wise to start over.

PS you don't have to start your MySQL over just the files

I finally decided it was time to reinstall. It went much quicker than I expected. Now everything seems to be working okay. :)

Now the next thing to work on is the Meteotemplate signature banner.
