My currentUS block has quit working. I think it's a data source change from http to https.

I've made the recommended changes but am still unable to pull in any data for the 5X sites. I've cleared the cache and made some changes to the cache times but still not working. Any other suggestions?

Did you just add an s to http? That's the only change needed. Are you certain you uploaded the new file to the correct directory? The only other thing that comes to mind is saving the file back after you changed it with a program not designed for saving code. A plain word processor or even the standard notepad will embed characters that change the code. I use Notepad++ which is a free download. Maybe download the file again from Meteotemplate and try again.

So I took your recommendations and re-downloaded the block, modified the line via Notepad++ and added back into the template with no resolution. I host my own website and live outside the US so not sure if any of this is relevent or not. Will continue to look for other things to consider but am always looking for others' insight as well. Thanks.

Our Rhineland friend,
I cannot see a situation where a server outside the US of A should affect the workings of your site.
Still, if you'd like me to check it, I'll put the block on my own site (admin view only) and see if it works for me.
Let me know here - Jáchym's system will advise me of your response.
Regards,
John

Purely for the information of others who have struck this problem:
I downloaded and installed the currentUS block. It didn't work initially. Rather than try to re-invent the wheel I used dmgould's advice (see above) and edited the currentUSBlock.php file off-line (via Notepad ++) and then uploaded it to my web site. It worked. Please note that I used only the three default ICAO designations. I shall leave it up to others to experiment with different airport ICAO identifiers.
