This block doesn't seem to be working, can't find any other site where it is..
In another forum I recall seeing a note that there had been a minor change in the source!

The block works but takes 30 sec or longer to load. Do we need to go higher in the food chain for answers?

The problem does not seem to be with MT but the source the feed is coming from. MT can't improve on load times from the source.

I don't use this block here in the mountains, so this isn't an issue for me. Check the block code to see where it gets the data. I suspect it might just be the data source changed from http to https, especially if the data comes from NOAA / NWS. They have gradually made that change throughout their whole system.

I downloaded the block and checked all of the links. This one is bad. It says the site can't be reached and is probably the reason the block isn't working.

Thanks for looking into this problem. I'm not knowledgeable enough to self-solve the code. It eventually works, but just takes 60 sec to load.
Can someone rewrite the block code?

Rewriting the block code won't make the data source respond more quickly. The data source is the problem. If there were a different data source that responds more quickly, then the block code could theoretically be rewritten to reference that new data source instead. I can probably rewrite the block code if you locate a better data source.

I looked at WU's Hurricane and Cyclone tab and they don't show where their data is coming from but the water temp graphic is the same. MT 17.2 did not solve this block problem.

Thanks for trying, but lets leave it as is for now.

I'm thinking, since the data source is still working but just slow, that their server is having issues. Hopefully that issue will resolve given some time.

As "dmgould" mentioned earlier the source is not working. The source comes from NOAA and an XML file Jachym taps into to get the data. They (NOAA) have been revamping their site for awhile now.

As a dmgould said.. the source is one of the problems. Jachym has been trying to keep up with the changes but it takes time and sometimes it is not worth the effort to try and keep up.

one link works but I'm not sure why it takes so long to load. Has nothing to do with MT.

I don't know, andyk1, unless something has changed over the last few hours. I used the link you provided and the map took about a second to complete. And, no, it wasn't cached as I have not previously visited the site, plus is showed the correct EDT - 20:00 (8pm) Sat 2019 06 29.
