Plugin webcam

Good morning,
The Webcam plugin does not work.
The cron functions parfaitement.
Now you can configure the plugins.
Despite everything hidden, the image appears well on the plugin but the history of the images and cartoons refuses their appearances and remains blocked on the date of commissioning of the plugin.
Cron tells me the next message:
"DIR=/public_html/www/load/crons<br>
baseURL=/public_html/www/<br>
Missing settings file, create one using the plugin setup."
Thank you very much, I would like to help you resolve this problem.
Happy weekend to all

Not sure why the cron is reporting that settings file is missing, as it seems present to me.
But I think the configuration is not correct ( I can see from the url of the broken image shown under the date ).
One thing a time:
- please install the attached plugin, it is already configured with your data, so no need to run the setup ( for the moment ).
- check that the plugins/webcam and subdirectories have the 'right permissions' ( it depends on your server, it could be 0644, but could be different )
- execute the updateWebcam.php script directly in the plugins/webcam directory ( insert your password )
https://meteo-galargues.fr/plugins/webc ... E_PASSWORD
The result should be similar to this one:

- webcam02.png (15.81 KiB) Viewed 81335 times
you should now have an image in the images folder and you should be able to select day 10 from the calendar in index.php.
Wait 5 minutes and rerun the updateWebcam.php ( from the above link ), you should have the second image...
If everything is correct you can copy the updateWebcam.php script in the load/crons directory and ( hopefully ) your plugin should work as expected.

Good evening Davide,
I would like to thank you warmly for your prompt response and the help you provide to all of us.
For my part, I installed the version you posted.
Unfortunately, this doesn't work.
I am sending you the attached error code messages:
- Notice: Undefined variable: password in /public_html/www/plugins/webcam/updateWebcam.php on line 5
- Notice: Undefined variable: updatePassword in /public_html/www/plugins/webcam/updateWebcam.php on line 5
- Notice: Undefined variable: baseURL in /public_html/www/plugins/webcam/updateWebcam.php on line 9
Missing Webcam settings file, create one using the plugin setup.
If this makes your intervention easier, you can use Team Viewer if necessary.
Looking forward to reading you
Sincerely
Didier HUBERT

- a write access to your server could be ok ( via ftp or via a file manager )
- team viewer is ok too, but it requires a 'synchronization' ( for example tonight after 22:30 is ok for me )

Hello to all the community,
Problem solved thanks to the intervention of Davide.
I thank him for his dedication, without him many problems would still have to be resolved.
He worked for me until midnight to find the solution and I am extremely grateful to him.
My webcam works.
Thank you Davide

Yes, I know, it is not easy to understand if something is not working correctly ( or configure the webcam/webcamRename plugins )
I've updated the webcamRename plugin adding 4 'test buttons' to understand if the configuration is ok, and to test each step that is performed ( in the hope to understand where the precess breaks, or configure as wanted ). Need to test it more thoroughly.

Regarding the plugin webcamRename, the two images that are saved in the /template/plugins/webcamRename/images folder, webcam.jpg and webcam1.jpg works. So the webcam image is shown on my weather page.
So maybe its in the Webcam plugin the error is.
The plugin webcamRename seems to work fine.

If I'm not wrong the problem lies in in the unicode character of 'fjærvollan.no' so in the configuration of the webcam plugin do not use it, use instead 'xn--fjrvollan-h3a.no' or a local path as used in the webcamRename plugin.
The following is ok:
Code: Select all
https://xn--fjrvollan-h3a.no/template/plugins/webcamRename/images/webcam1.jpg

- webcam06.png (196.35 KiB) Viewed 81183 times
Clicking the 'Check webcam image' button should result in something similar as last image
If this does not fix the issue, it would be helpful to have a direct access to your server ( for example via ftp or via a file manager ) so that I can test the plugin directly.

Good night friends.
I have been trying to get the webcam_3.4 plugin to work for several days and there is no way. Upload the images to my ftp but without content.
I have tried the
- Check Webcam Image Settings tests --> without result,
-Test Webcam Image Saving --> without result
- Test Webcam Update Script with this result.....
substr=ins/webcam
base=../../
timestamp=1711048907 (20:21:47)
timeForUpdate=1711049400 (20:30:00)
Save interval elapsed.
Webcam image being saved.
imageURL=##
https://www.avametnuvol.es/estacions/c2 ... webcam.jpg##
The webcam block does work and the image of my webcam is free access, it does not need a username or password and this is its url
https://www.avametnuvol.es/estacions/c2 ... webcam.jpg
If anyone could help me or point out what I might have wrong, I would appreciate it.

Thank you tobydude and Jolumarali for your response.
I have the same configuration as you and the problem is that it cannot check the url from where I get the jpg image. However, the block does work with the same url of said image.
I just tried version 3.0 that Juan told me about and it seems that it works, we need to see if it loads the sequence of images. I have been using version 19.0 Cranberry with php8.2.10 for a few months now and I don't know if the webcam 3.0 plugin will have any incompatibility.
The image from my webcam is already renamed because I save it on the server of a network of stations in my region and it is already renamed there.

Good morning.
I have tested the webcam version 3.0 for two days and it does not record the images so I can see them on the date they were taken. Yes, the image appears next to the calendar but nothing more.
Version 3.4 didn't work for me either.
I have looked at my web hosting and the /www/template/plugins/webcam/images folder is empty, it has not stored any images in the last two days.
If anyone can help me I will appreciate it.

Hello tabydude.
I have not been able to answer you before due to technical problems with my webcam that I have not yet been able to solve.
When I get it I will contact you again.
Thanks for your help.
