Another Canadian...

Hi everyone, I am new to this forum but not to Jachym's template as was one of the originals in testing his new template and am keeping it fully up to date (as of this morning) www.komokaweather.com/j-template.

KomokaWeather was first established in June 2008 and the original Davis VP2 is still going with the only maintenance is one change of the ISS battery in 2010 as I thought I should do it.

Komoka, Ontario Canada is in Southwestern Ontario about 80 km east from Port Huron MI and about 200 km from Detroit Mi and 200 km west of Toronto, Canada.

In addition to my Davis VP2 I have a Blake-Larsen Sunrecorder, a Blitzortung lighting station, a Logitech webcam and Bloomsky unit.

In addition to my Meteotemplate site www.komokaweather.com/j-template (be warned it takes a while to load as I've probably added one too many of the blocks  ) I have the other common templates at www.komokaweather.com. I am a loyal Cumulus user as it was the easiest for me to start with in this hobby and offers all the things that are needed and important to me.

As mentioned my Meteotemplate experience goes back to when Jachym was first thinking of redoing his own initial weather website and offer it to others, because of the many requests he had. I have learned a lot from it.

Best wishes to all, and especially Jachym, from Komoka, ON Canada.

Paul

Hi Paul,
yes I can confirm Paul is one of the probably 3 or 4 users who have been using Meteotemplate the longest.

I think Paul is also holding the record for most blocks and plugins installed (and I would not recommend trying to beat him since he probably has the maximum possible :-)

Best regards to Canada!

Hi Paul,

Did you consider to use menuBlocks?
My home page contains 79 blocks, divided over 15 blocks/menuBlocks.
Therefore my home page contains only 15 active blocks at a time and loads much faster.

Cheers, Luc

I'm a little late to reply Luc... Yes I use menu blocks, about a dozen of them.
One collects a lot of information over time, and Jachyn has provided several ways to display all of that, so I use them.

Enjoy,
Paul

I agree. I think it's the best solution :D

Hi!

As i remember, (no offense), i was the very first i think who asked Jachym in the mists of time to help me with a weather banner that showed the conditions and a picture according to it. Then we started thinking about a template and i think i was the first who tested the very beginnings of the template...

Correct me if i am wrong, not that i want to start a fuzz, absolutely not, but i think a deserve a little credit also...

Yes, I will acknowledge and give you credit....

I remember, from many years ago, traveling to visit our aunt and the Antwerpen zoo via train from Heist-op-den-Berg,

Enjoy,
Paul

Hi, Paul!

Always nice to know that you have warm and fond memories when you visited Antwerp, you would be surprised how it looks these days. But i really did'nt want to make a fuzz, just wanted to say that we chatted days and nights about the start of a template...

Warm greetings from Antwerp, Belgium!
