Summary block not working?

I've tried in vain to get the Summary block working - its just spins and this is probably the block that brought me here. Reading the problem page I see a few issues with blocks no longer working so is this a general issue for all or just me?

I've tried it with my URL as well as the default URL.

Hello again, PiMan,

No, it is not a general problem. Should you have the time then click on the banner below, which will take you to my own main page. The last item in the centre column is set as a default for 'warnings'. Clicking on the three-barred menu glyph should bring down a small menu with the 'summary' listed. Click on that and you (hopefully) should be presented with the current information for my site.

As to why you are not receiving information I don't really know. The text as provided by Jáchym does indicate that information data are also garnered from external sources not only from your own data. Perhaps, and that's a pretty big IF, you need to 'sign up' to one or more of the options in the main menu. That, though, is a pretty wild guess.

Thanks (again) John and yes, I see your summary.

I've signed up to a couple of WeatherNetworks so shall do some more before I worry about this and start digging around - so much to learn still.

Well, that wasn't so difficult and don't think I've caused any security issues but simply changed the summary folder to 0755 from 0700 and voila, the summary appeared.

Am getting there slowly

Well done, good sir. I must admit I wouldn't have thought of it being a permissions matter.
