I want to change from Cumulus to WD

I dont know where to put this, but anyway here goes, and if its in the wrong place, sorry.
I have been using cumulus for some time now, and set up my website with this meto template. To be able to run cumulus and the template together I have to run external cron jobs every minute. There just seems to be endless problems with these cron jobs and the fact the software is so basic and hasnt been updated in a very long time I need to change to Weather Display.

The questions I have are twofold.

1. If I suddenly stop using cumulus in favour of WD, will this cause serious loss of data during the transition? What I mean is, if I change to WD will the data I already collected become useless because I changed to WD

2. Since I have never even used WD before, except to have a look at it, I have no idea at all how to set it up. I am using WS3083 wifi station with solar and UV from Aercus. How on earth do I even begin to set up WD with my station and then make the website pick up on the data after it's up and running? Also I am presuming that for example say there is a problem with my website and i need my host to fix it, WD can collect data and then send this 'historical data' to the site when it's up and running again so i dont loose any data?

I would really appreciate some help in trying to configure WD, which radials and boxes to check and so on. Many thanks in advance. The sooner i can get away from cumulus the betetr, it oriignally served me at a time i was knew to all of this, and it does upload data to WU too.

I have managed to to get the data from my weather station to weather display, but i am clueless when it comes to how to use this ftp on wd. which one do i use and what boxes should i check? i was using cumulus on this site, so do i need to do anything to the meteosite or will it be okay the way it is after using cumulus? do i need to use a realtime.txt file or will wd ftp directly to my meteosite? i wish it was much easier than it really is. i have no idea how to ftp my weather station data to my site.

unfortunately it doesnt seem to tell me what i need to know regarding what i am supposed to do with the ftp for the meteotemplate, thats why i came here asking for help. Nor does it answer the question about whether i will loose all my data or whether i would have to reformat everything. I am guessing there are a lot of people who use wd, and they know what and how to fill in the the ftp..for example there is even a tab with meteotemplate which makes absolutely no sense to me.
