Interactive banner

Post by livefeed » Fri Feb 08, 2019 6:50 pm

Hello,

Am I correct in thinking the interactive banner is controlled via the Metar in the Main Set up?
My closest Metar code is KNHK but it never shows the correct weather, I have tried other metar codes but they don't work either, any ideas?

Not to my thinking, livefeed, although I do not use meteobridge.

I have previewed this post and it shows my site readings exactly.

I shall preview it again in a couple of minutes ...

... The same - and some figures have changed slightly from the previous.

Regards,
John

Just curious.....do you have Daksky.net key entered in the main setup? I think he might be talking about bg images, correct me if I am wrong. Maybe the banner reads from that. On my mobile, so I cant dig into the code

I think he is talking about the banner at the top of the main page. It is controlled by METAR conditions as I remember.

Header image

The template uses a so-called "Interactive banner". This banner takes current conditions from your nearby METAR station specified above. It is in this case not possible to use your station data, because it is not possible to deduce for example the cloud cover, differentiate between rain and snow etc. The script then looks at whether it is night or day, and also determines the current Moon phase. Then based on this it will create the dynamic interactive banner. It will randomly choose a background image that corresponds to current conditions. If it is raining, it will add water droplets and set their angle based on the current wind speed taken from the database from your data. Also the intensity of the rain will be adjusted based on the METAR report. If it is snowing, snowflakes will appear. And if it is night time and it is not overcast, an icon of the Moon, corresponding to its current phase, will appear in the header top right corner.

If however, you do not wish to use the interactive banner and want to use your own static image instead, simply select this below and specify the URL of this image.
