Rain totals duplicated at 12:00 am

Post by riteoh » Mon Nov 24, 2025 9:08 am

Answers to this problem may be limited to anybody who uses Weatherlink software. My terminology here may also be incorrect - as I don't know the correct terms to use, but hopefully this is understood

So my setup is that my Vantage Pro 2 data is stored using Weatherlink software, which then with the help of an IP logger, sends the realtime.txt file via FTP.. which is then picked up by Cumulus, then sent to my Meteotemplate using a cron job.

All working perfectly... however...

Each day at midnight, (e.g. 12:00 am 24 November) the accumulated rainfall as at 11:50 pm the previous day appears as the rainfall carried forward. Meteo then from 12:05 am. 'ignores' this figure, so the 11:50pm entry IS correct for rainfall for the day, when viewed by the edit data screen in admin.

But it seems that when statistics are loaded (eg monthly summary from the StationData block) the figure from 12:00 am is being ADDED to that for the rest of the day, resulting in completely inaccurate figures for rainfall. The same also applies for any interactive tables direct from the website.

Does anybody know if there is a fix for this/particular to my station or setup alone? The last thing I want on my site is inaccurate figures.....

hi,

search for https://www.meteotemplate.com/forum/vie ... 008#p12945

you should see an api fix there.

Is it that that you need?

Thanks Alex,

That looks like the fix. Will now have to wait until it rains to see if it works (probably 48 hours)
