First Dutch over here

Well I think so I'm Ron from The Netherlands , notice Holland is not The Neherlands The country Holland doesn't exist even we've North and South - Holland these are provinces of The Netherlands . Nieuw-Holland is the old name of Austalia .

Amsterdam is our capital City , Nieuw (New)-Amsterdam was the name from a settlement in the 17th century in the province Nieuw (New)-Nederland now known as New York in the US.

I live in Apeldoorn about 50 miles east from Amsterdam , we've about 160.000 inhabitants in Apeldoorn. I'm 59 years atm and love thunderstorms the photo below was taken in Belgium btw

So, did you leave the shutter open to catch the lightning? Or were you filming and grabbed a still frame?

I've used burst mode my photocamera that can shoot 30 fps , I had to sort out 600 photo's for this shot

Well if we wound back the clock you'd have had a job shooting 600 35mm film frames So the digital camera has proved it's worth.

It s better to have a webcam with motiondetection i Will post som captures soon. Unfortunally its a low resolution te camera has died have to search my hd andere Will post soon

PS warm bij jou we beleefden vandaag pas de eerste zomerse dag van augustus in De Bilt hoewel dat nog niet eens zeker is 24,9 of 25 C in Apeldoorn werd het 26,3 C

You're right maybe there are people over here with Dutch roots
BTW today De Bilt reached maybe the first summerday of augustus 2017 in my town it was 26,3 C the highest temperature for august by now (it's very unusual average is 5 to 6 days =>25 C in this month.
