Suggestion about CSS

Post by Alex » Mon Nov 27, 2017 2:54 pm

Hi all, this is my first topic in the forum!

First of all I wanna thank the Meteo Template author, He is doing an amazing work!

About CSS I think could be useful to have a form box in the main configuration where the users can modify the CSS without edit the files.

In this way all users can adjust and personalize the aspect of the site without lose the modify when there is a new release of the MT.
What do you think about?
Bye, Alex

Hi Alex,
the problem is that the CSS is not loaded by one file. Homepage has a separate one, some pages have their own CSS file, some pages have hard-coded CSS, which cannot be overridden by any CSS stylesheet etc. so this would not work on all pages and create problems

Ok Jachym, I was thinking for home page, header and footer.

As you know I'd like to adjust the mobile footer but I would not want to miss it when you will relaese new version

I can only image how many CSS file there are in the all site!
Thanks anyway.

Bye, Alex

Hi,
yes, and some CSS is hard-coded in particular pages, it is a mess to be quite honest, mostly because at the beginning I didnt pay attention to this and the very old stuff is very inconsistent

Hi Jachym
Along this same line, is it possible to add/modify the Settings text file for Block/Plugins to include a section for Google Analytics code.

I use Google Analytics and really like it, but to track traffic to individual pages requires pasting about 6 lines of code on each page you wish to track. I'm always concerned that I may put that code in the wrong place (or is there an incorrect place).

This works great until update time. It would be great for me at least, to paste that code into the respective Settings file when a new update is released.

I'm always looking for ways to automate tasks in my life. Is this a possibility?

Thanks for all you do for our MeteoTemplate community. It is much appreciated.
Terry

G'day, Terry.

Have you obtained the analytics code?

It should be placed in the Main Setup page:

Hi Terry,
you dont need to insert any code. GA is built-in to Meteotemplate, just insert your tracking code in the Main settings and it will be added to each page of the template (not including blocks, homepage loads as a single page no matter how many blocks you have because 1 homepage load = 1 visit, not 30 :D)
