Names on Hamburger menu when using a menuBlock

Post by justinhow » Sun Aug 27, 2017 8:47 am

I am using a menuBlock on my desktop homepage which includes 'currentMap' amongst others.
Is there anyway to use a different name on the hamburger menu other than the block name as currentMap (and various others) are not always very easy for users to read and don't look very pretty!

This happens when the namespace isn´t in the translation dataabase.
If you make a list of those that have this problem I can add it to the language files.

Hi Jachym
Is this Translation database anything we can add to as I use a couple of blocks that I created?
CurrentMap is one of yours that seems to have a problem.

No, this is a language database on my server which is generating the language files you download in the Translations section of meteotemplate.com. The menu blocks basically look for the namespace in the database and if it finds it uses the translation, if not, it uses the namespace.

I have to admit I often forget to add these to the database, so it is quite likely some blocks display the namespace rather than the correct name - if you make a list of all the ones which do this I will of course add it and then once you update your language files it will show up on your page.

The only one of yours is currentMap - you could check you have that.

Excellent.
May be you could consider a way to support user created blocks, in the mean time I have just added my own blocks to gp.php but I am aware these changes will get overwritten at some point.
Thanks for your speedy response as ever!

Hi,
I have nothing against adding some new strings to the language database - as long as they are at least marginally related to weather :D
