radarUS Block - Update needed for GOES East

Post by MonyMony » Tue Feb 06, 2018 1:23 pm

It looks like NOAA has changed how they are posting the new GOES East satellite data and the old data source that the radarUS block uses no longer works properly. Is there any chance this block can be updated at some point to account for this new satellite data?

Hi Jachym,

If you look in the screenshot I posted, the blank area over the Eastern US is the problem. The old site the data was coming from, www.ssd.noaa.gov, has a special notice posted that new data will be found under https://www.star.nesdis.noaa.gov/GOES/index.php. The current source for the data is the not going to be updated to show the eastern US.

Hope this helps.
