weatherMETAR broken

Post by azchrisf » Fri Feb 16, 2018 10:08 am

The weatherMETAR plugin is broken (METAR Weather in demo).
(Getting a little tired of all the broken plugins...c'mon...)

Verified on both my system and the demo.
The Countries one appears to work fine - but when you do anything in the World one, it just sits spinning. It also can lock up a site temporarily - case in point what it did to Meteotemplate's site:

A lot of the plugins and blocks scape data from external sites that Jachym does not have control over. This means that if any of those sites makes a change then the plugin/block could have a problem, like as you reported. Once these problems are reported they are usually fixed quickly. The bottom line is anytime an external source makes a change there will potential issues. It is the nature of trying to use these plugins/blocks and something that will not go away.

So c'mon and give Jachym a break as the alternative is we all would have to figure out how to do the all coding ourselves.

Thanks, this is exactly it.

Just to give you an idea. The Canadian forecast block source changed structure five times over the last year, almost seems like they are doing it on purpose to prevent loading data like this.
