Adding All Spain Cities option to forecast Block

Post by ea7gt » Mon Feb 26, 2018 2:50 pm

Moved from template forum (sorry)

Hi all.

I am new at meteotemplate, and I in love with it  An incredible work of Jachym.

In this moment I am setting up my new installation of meteotemplate, choosing plugins, blocks, etc

I know it´s very difficult to implement solutions for all the users and locations, but I think (I am not sure) this improvement would not be too complicated.

I am using "forecast block" to show forecast for my town (Frigiliana). I have enabled this options:,yrNo, wu, meteoBlue, yahoo, and darkSky, All of them provide forecast for my town but the problem is they are not too much accurate.

In Spain the most accurate forecast service is AEMET. They provide the option to put forecast in our webs in a widget, but the more important for us is that they also provide XML data with detailed forecast for all the cities in Spain. (similar to yr.no)

I think (if is posible) that would be a good idea to update forecast block adding the option to choose AEMET as forecast provider. Of course AEMET only make Spain forecasts, but wouldn´t be a problem a note indicating this.

Why updating forecast block instead of a new one? Well, only because I think in your job and free time, although perhaps you take the same time making a new block starting from zero.

Here you choose your town
http://www.aemet.es/es/eltiempo/prediccion/municipios

Here the forecast (for example) for my town
http://www.aemet.es/es/eltiempo/predicc ... na-id29053

Here the xml URL
http://www.aemet.es/xml/municipios/localidad_29053.xml

I Know we have the block forecastSpain, but it´s a province forecast with a quick text, without any other information, it´s usefull, but different to a graphic representation with max/min etc.

Sorry for my english and, again, thanks for your great job.

Regards

PS: My website it´s not finished yet, but you can see at www.meteofrigiliana.com
