I've just today established a weather website using the (fabulous!) MeteoTemplate weatherstation templates. It's at www.boulderweather.org My weather station is located at 6660 ft above sea level and overlooks the Eastern Plains of Colorado. The weather station is a Davis VP Pro 2 and CumulusMX running on a Raspberry Pi is used to acquire & process the data for two of my three weather websites. CumulusMX is also running on a PC feeding the third. A Raspberry Pi is also used to take hi-res photos nearly due East 24/7 at 30 sec (day) to 1 minute (at night) intervals. Some of these are posted on the website and the others are processed (Movie Salsa and FFMPEG) to create timelapse movies which are shown on the new site. I also host a lightning detector (Station 1965) which is part of the Blitzortung network, so the lightning maps here probably use some of my data.
Although we are only 2 miles from the city of Boulder, the terrain is mountainous and heavily forested. There is plenty of wildlife, namely Bear, Mountain Lions, Bobcats, Foxes, Wild Turkeys etc., The motion-activated cameras around the house capture some of animals activity, and I have posted videos on the other website www.boulderwx.com, and will do the same for the Meteobridge site too, as I refine it.

Whish I was back in Boulder again! Attended a conference at NCAR some years ago, and after the conference I rented a bike and went up in the mountains for four days. One day I biked up to Brainard Lake - a very scenic place. I was also up in the Sugarloaf Mountain.

Yes it can be beautiful here in the mountains and Brainard lake is my favorite place to take visitors as it sits at the base of the Indian Peaks. Thos peaks surround a small glacier which feeds water to Boulder. It's great to hike up there as there are several lakes as you climb (all with trout).
But you must be used to the mountains! Norway is gorgeous with it's mountains and fjords! I've always wanted to tour Norway, but have only stopped over on my way to Russia.

Welcome to MT world! I love Boulder. Been there a few times and the fresh air and mountains are really what I love. Then again, living on Long Island is awesome too!

Andy
THANK YOU. I think the Meteotemplates are great, but sometimes the learning curve is steep! Jachym is extremely helpful and easy to reach via e-mail. I have 3 websites using the same weather data, but each using a different template setup:
www.boulderweather.org uses Meteo
www.boulderwx.com uses Saratoga Templates
www.apcat.org uses weather34.com Templates
weather34 is the easiest to setup, but consists, more or less, of a single page.
