Server Errors when using Blocks Setup

Post by oh6hps » Mon Jul 30, 2018 5:58 pm

Ok, here comes my problem I mentioned in my introduction few minutes ago... :-)

Testing steps:

1. Go to website www.vesalaulumaa.fi/template
2. Log in to template with you password
3. Click Blocks Setup/ version check or Menu > Update menu

Result: After 300 seconds server gives me an error message "Inactivity timeout" or "Gateway timeout".

Here is the snippet of the error message from the web server:
--------------------------
[Sun Jul 29 23:01:50 2018] [error] [client 95.175....] [host www.vesalaulumaa.fi] AH10141: FastCGI: comm with server "/homez.734/vesalaul/www/template/admin/blockSetup.php" aborted: idle timeout (300 sec), referer: http://www.vesalaulumaa.fi/template/admin/blockSave.php [Sun Jul 29 23:01:50 2018] [error] [client 95.175......] [host www.vesalaulumaa.fi] AH10149: FastCGI: incomplete headers (0 bytes) received from server "/homez.734/vesalaul/www/template/admin/blockSetup.php", referer: http://www.vesalaulumaa.fi/template/admin/blockSave.php [Sun Jul 29 23:01:50 2018] [error] [client 95.175....] [host www.vesalaulumaa.fi] AH10157: FastCGI: An error happend on Fastcgi processing, fallback to CGI, referer: http://www.vesalaulumaa.fi/template/admin/blockSave.php
--------------------------

Then I have to clear recent history of the browser to see my web page again. It makes configuration pretty painful.

I also have local installation on my NAS and everything works perfectly. I guess it has to do something with a folder/file privileges or maybe .htaccess file? I have already tried to tweak (pretty much everything almost last five days) except "public write" privileges for obvious reasons. :-) I even tried a second installation in the other folder with the same result. Maybe I'm just trying too much :-)

I'm sure it is not the server performance issue. I already upgraded it to decent level. I'm using PHP 7.1 / FPM / CDN + HTTP/2 options. (Ticket is also sent to my hosting company.)

Any ideas would be highly appreciated. I'm sure the issue will be solved somehow.

Sorry for my long post, I really want to get this done, Meteotemplate is something worth trying. Thanks in advance!

UPDATE:

Here is another thing I found out:

If I log in with my admin password and then hit home icon it ends up to a timeout as well. But before that I'm able to browse menus and weather data w/o an issues. At the same time other web browser (not logged in) works just fine. What is wrong with my admin rights?

I was wondering if it is a good idea to upload the whole admin folder again to my server. Is there any precautions* to taken care of before doing it? I do not want to mess it up even more, since the web page works except configuration.

* besides backups

Monology update: I tried to change folder privileges 755 and files 644. Good news: Site still works, normal news: admin actions: server timeout. Stay tuned and grab your popcorns the saga continues....

Some progress for a while. No I'm able to reach Block setup but after saving settings I get error: "The requested URL /template/admin/blockSave.php was not found on this server." Yes, it is there for sure...

No, no Vesa! It surely is there, but with .bak file extension. I can't believe this....it works now!! Tears of joy... :D
