Google Analytics

Post by magical46 » Sat Apr 21, 2018 10:18 pm

Hi
I very rarely look at my google analytics report but I did decide to have a look today (after several months), but its not showing any hits and says
No Hits error
Property http://www.weybourneweather.co.uk is not receiving hits.
alarm Pending verification Restore Details
and
Bad Default URL error
Unable to load Default URL http://www.weybourneweather.co.uk for property http://www.weybourneweather.co.uk.
notifications_off Ignored Restore Details
I have looked but can't see any issue. I have my UA code in the main settings page. Can anyone tell me how I check it is the correct code, I couldn't see it on my a google analytics page? Or has there been some change I am not aware of

If you changed your URL or moved folders or added and moved your site then GA and the UA-xxxxxxxxxxx is associated with a specific url. You can go to Google Analytics setup page and change it to point to the correct site. I made the same mistake and it was a pain finding and fixing that setting. Sorry it's been awhile ago and I don't remember how I got to that GA settings page. If it is not important to you then set up another with the correct url settings. Hope this is what you where looking for.

Andy

Edit: The page url you listed http://www.weybourneweather.co.uk is 404 which means it's not the correct url and you must have moved it, Index.html is redirecting to wrong site or .htaccess file is not correct if you also set that up. Somehow it is pointing to the wrong website name. Try correcting the page url and then GA updating your settings.

Hi Phil, go to https://analytics.google.com/, you'll have to sign into your account. In the bottom left hand corner click on the admin cog, in the middle column click on Property Settings, the next page will display your UA-xxxxxxx-x code. You can also check that the URL is shown correctly, if it's wrong you can try correcting it, or better still go back one page and click the Create Property blue button and start anew.

By the way I haven't' heard that word 'Wally' since school days, thanks for making me smile.

No Problem. We've all been there one time or other.

The entrepreneurship journey can be very challenging especially when you have to gain new audience for your business. I believe that internet marketing can truly help you in the immense way. In fact I also got huge growth in our sales with the help of social media marketing and Adwords Campaign Management services.
