Hi

Time to first byte is around 8 seconds, as seen on the screenshots, when indexDesktop.php is called. So what is going on in indexDesktop.php? The mobile page loads very fast.

Furthermore, I have 3-4 blocks which also load very slowly

Anyone who can come up with good ideas where to look?

Hi

I have switched to Apache to see if it makes any difference. It seems not to be the case. I got this error now from the Apache log:

Got error 'PHP message: PHP Notice: Undefined index: saveLayout in /var/www/vsvejr.de/mt/admin/createHomepageWrite.php on line 17
PHP message: PHP Notice: file_get_contents(): read of 8192 bytes failed with errno=21 Is a directory in /var/www/vsvejr.de/mt/admin/createHomepageWrite.php

Any clues?

Just an update.

When I'm at the main page with all the blocks, they are running very fast and I can switch back and forth between the blocks without any problems.

When I switch from the main page, to f.x Reports, I have this long wait time again. If I choose another function, I have the wait time again and also when returning to the main page.

I too have had the same issue to the point I am now having to only use my mobile site so am not sure what is going on with the coding. Seems to only effect the desktop site. Www.jerseyweather.net

I had a similar issue. The slow down was only effecting me and not others using the site. I found it happened if I was logged in to the template as admin. If I logged out as admin things returned to normal speed.

Thanks for looking into this.

Tom, your site is fast, but you only have data from 2019 and 2020. I have data from 2015 and approx. 500,000 records in the database.

Ethan, your side is slow. You have data since 2005, so there are many records that need to be processed. (Apparently).

As a test, I created a database with only 1 year and the site was extremely fast. Then I put in data for 6 years and the site became slow. This was the default setup with no extra blocks and plugins.

It is probably only Jachym who can explain why the start-up takes a long time and what goes on in the code.

My conclusion is that there is probably nothing to do in the short term. In the longer term, you should probably look at the database design.

Furthermore I haven't found any way to optimize the database.

I am extremely pleased with Meteotemplate and really appreciate the great work Jachym has put into it.

Weirdly I removed my web part that shows the database and it seemed to solve the issue.... for a while at least

The database ones eg station info and station history ones
