I have a general question about the snow block. This will be my first winter using MT, so this may be common knowledge. Our first snow occurred on 1 Nov. It was very light with no measurable precipitation. I did want to document it however as the first snow of the season. So I entered it in Add Snow Data as Trace precipation (as I report to CoCoRhas)and Trace snow. Of course the error trap didn't like a non-numeric entry (which is fine) but I also added a note that we received sleet turning into snow in the p.m. and saved.
We got measurable snow yesterday so I went to enter it. My prior notes were missing. I entered yesterday's snow depth and precip. This is reflected in the snow block.
Question: for entry for a particular date to be saved, does the note require a numeric entry in order to be saved? I would think that date could be saved with null for amounts and just the text string.
About the comment, where will it be visible? might it be visible in the station diary?
Thanks
ps So did I screw something up (as usual) or is this by design? It just occurred to me that I might be able to enter 0 for amounts and save the comments.

Hi,
Im going on a business trip abroad tomorrow, I will look at it when I come back. I dont think the block shows this, the text is only visible in the plugin now

Re: Snow Block
Interesting timing on this as I was just this morning wondering if there was a better way to deal with the snow "Trace" total. Add me to the list of someone that would be interested in a way to show the snow comments or another option to indicate trace amounts.

I will apologise for that remark. It seems that a newly installed security system did not trust images from my own site when referenced via the forum. Hopefully the signature image is now visible to all.
