Hello from Southern England!

Hi all,

Just to introduce my self as Simon, formerly of SpireWeather in Salisbury, Wiltshire and more recently WessexWeather in Wimborne Minster, Dorset. I have been passionate about meteorology since childhood and have more recently been recording the weather since 2009.

I originally used a flaky Oregon Scientific WMR 918 with Weather Display which I found overly complicated and hard to keep up to date. In 2011 I upgraded to a Davis Vantage Vue with Cumulus running on a tiny 10W FitPC, and built a comprehensive Wordpress site which was a great success in Salisbury until I was hacked, but was never able to locate the malicious code. After the FitPC died I moved to the excellent MeteoBridge and wrote my own simple website in HTML using Weather Underground scripts but ran into trouble last year when WU started to become unreliable.

Jachym came to my rescue late last year, and I have never looked back since. I now have the best website I could ever have imagined with a seemingly endless source of information, updates and support, with my own data updating to my own database. No more reliance on anyone else, apart from my host and Jachym that is!

I have over 2000 Twitter followers and my hobby is going from strength to strength.
