Re: How do I secure my Meteotemplate site? (https)
There are quite a few hosts that are trying to maintain their certificate sales by not allowing LetsEncrypt. Unfortunately, since the certificate needs to be installed on the server, if they don't provide an interface to do this, then I don't believe you can install it yourself. I have been lucky as...

Re: How do I secure my Meteotemplate site? (https)
Hi,
I am not seeing any load problems with my site (https://eveshamweather.co.uk). I just use the LetsEncrypt option my host (Krystal) provides for free certificates. The only thing I did was to get the certificate issued with wildcards enabled in the cpanel options.

Re: Another Webcam Problem
Sorry for the late reply but I have a script running on a Windows PC I have running 24/7 with a scheduled task every 15 to take the latest image uploaded from my camera, modify it to add an overlay and resize it to something sensible. It then uploads this using the command line FTP program built int...

Re: webcam plugin behaving strange
Is the image that gets uploaded actually changing? I have had it in the past where my upload was failing so Meteotemplate just added the same image to database every time it updated.

Re: https warning
The benefit to me is just Google's search system as this seems to give priority to https sites over plain http ones. There is little other benefit on a site where no logins happen for anyone other than the owner. I enable https on all sites where possible though as this is free and easy on my webhos...

Re: River levels block
That site looks like it uses the API's I listed and generates the data from those, so it would be possible to create a block (for current information) and possibly a plugin giving more detailed information (like history graphs etc). Jachym may be able to sort something way faster than I can though (...

Re: River levels block
It would need a reliable data source from which data can be extracted. I have quickly looked at the Environment Agency website for the UK and there is an API for flood warnings, which may also give river levels in there somewhere - https://environment.data.gov.uk/flood-monitoring/doc/reference. A qu...

Upgrade to Nectarine
Thanks for the template and continual updates Jachym.
I have a slight problem though - I hadn't installed the bug fix to V16 and cannot see it on the download page now. Is it possible to get the V16 bug fix so I can run the update to v17 please?

New Station Hardware Advice
It looks like parts of my existing Oregon Scientific WMR88 are starting to fail - I repeatedly get both the rain gauge and the wind speed reading failing at the same time (although the wind direction works and this uses the same sender as the speed I believe). To fix I have to reset the sensors and ...

Re: Reolink webcam / other model?
I am using a Foscam security camera which uploads to a folder on my local NAS box. From here I run a Linux script (I also have a small Linux box running 24/7 so run it on that) which modifies the files and adds an overlay. This then uploads the file to my webspace, using the standard filename. I hav...

Re: Off Line Notification
I have setup some free site monitoring using Rapidspike where I have a content check. After installing the StationStatus block on my homepage, it looks for the word online in the block and alerts me if it is not found. I have the test interval set to 10 minutes, so if my site does not get an update ...

Re: Auto-updates
Initially I had a problem where the update window opened as just a white window and nothing updated. I checked the PHP extensions in CPanel (under the Select PHP Version section). I am using PHP7.1 and the rar & zip extensions are not enabled by default, but it was just a quick click to enable t...

Re: Block auto update problem after update to V16
When I installed ver16 the block auto update did not work. Looking at the blockInstallProcess.php, I could see that the block file was downloaded to the host server (MDD Hosting) but the process halted at the next step. Unzipping the file was not happening. Since the process was working for others,...

Re: Webcam pictures used too much disk space
I love the webcam plugin and luckily my current webhost provides 'unlimited' storage space so that is not an issue for me. I am suffering from file overload in the single folder though as my host (and all the previous hosts it seems - possibly all Cpanel hosts) seems to have a hard limit of 9998 fil...

Re: Webcams plugin.
I have it set up and luckily for me it was problem free. When you say permissions say 777, what file/folder is that for? The plugin needs write access to http://www.thebrandonbarometer.com/template/plugins/webcam/images folder as this is where the images for each time slot are stored. Looking on you...

Re: What can I do with my raspberry pi II ?
I do the same as wxthomson and use mine for aircraft tracking and uploading to multiple sites (Flightaware, Flightradar24, Radarbox & Plane Plotter) which gives me mobile apps for some of the sites free of charge and upgraded accounts for the rest. The webcam does look good and my first WeatherC...

Hi from Evesham, United Kingdom
Just saying hi to every one and introducing myself. I'm Vince and along with my partner we run EveshamWeather.co.uk using our Oregon Scientific WMR88 weather station and a recently added Meteobridge for uploading (replacing our old Cumulus system). This is a bit of an upgrade from our first weather ...
