New Install issue
Went through all the install instructions.
I can get the basic page to come up in my browser http://melvinweather.com/indexDesktop.php
I assume I now need to log on as an administrator to go any further.
How ever, it will not recognize my password. Yes I did write it down, was careful (So I thought)
Is there a way to fix this with out having to start from scratch?
I am using Cumulus, so I still have to figure out a crone job part, and tell cumulus to start uploading data again.

Hi Bob, welcome to the forum, I also use Cumulus to update one of my two sites, so if get stuck give me a shout and I'll see if I can help. Below are my CRON job settings for Cumulus, needless to say change the password and URL to your own.

Re: New Install issue
I made a folder within my web site called cumulus and that's where I tell the Cumulus software to upload the realtime.txt to.

Then in Cumulus itself go to Configuration/Internet and maybe use similar settings to those shown below.

Oh Man....
Johnny your a Life saver.
I set up my crone job, hope it runs right, did not get any errors yet.
I have been running Cumulus for 3 years. Now keeps complaining about the date/time when I try to import my data. Just trying to do this month so far, makes me mad that it will zero out all my pressure data.
Haven't even tried to setup my blocks or home page yet.

Re: New Install issue
Hi Bob,
I too had problems importing my Cumulus data, in the end I reluctantly imported it all from Weather Underground (where I had been uploading my Cumulus to).
There are other Cumulus users on the forum and they may well have some suggestions to help you import your three years of Cumulus data.
As you can add that older data in at anytime, you could get underway with adding some blocks - just to get a feel for how it works. There are plenty of instructions on Jachym's Wiki page:
http://www.meteotemplate.com/web/wiki/wiki3GB.php
He also has plenty of very helpful videos:

Yes, I think I may end up going the WU way too.
Would not be so bad but I kind of stopped WEB pages at HTML. All the new php pages is over my head.

Does not like date/time
There is a problem with the date and time, nothing would be imported. Check the date/time format you specified and the actual values in the file.
Record number 1 has incorrect date/time format, this data row is completely ignored...

Re: New Install issue
This is not as easy as I thought it would be.
My realtime.txt is being uploaded by Cumulus.
I can not tell if the Cron job is running.
I see that it does not look for a UV sensor.
Placement of the Blocks is totally confusing me.
I have downloaded and installed one block "currentUS" in the block folder on my server.
I have the menu working and a few other things.
Need a break, will play more later.

Re: New Install issue
Keep working and asking and you will figure it all out. After you do things a few times you will be moving around and changing things rather easily. Like any new program the learning curve is the steepest at the beginning.

Re: New Install issue
Ok, Starting to get some things to display.
My page still shows OFFLINE?
I have my "REALTIME.TXT" file updating
I have a cron job set to run every minute to update the realtime.txt. The updatesetup.php was successfully run.
Does it have to run for several minutes before it shows anything?

It looks like your cron job is not running each minute.
Can you post the command line of your cronjob please?

It will run if I manually type that into a browser.
The techs at my WEB HOST say that it is running the cron job??

Re: New Install issue
What we see is only the result of the manual performed calls. The cron job should call the update program each minute. This we don't see in the apiLog.txt file. This should get each minute new data.

Re: New Install issue
Ok the tech guys just sent me an email,
Had to add "curl -s" to the beginning of the command
It appears to be running now.
Amazes me the little things that are different from what my WEB HOST documentation reads.
Tomorrows mission, get my SQL database working.
Thank you all for the help

Re: New Install issue
Hi Bob, looks like you're moving forward, with regard to setting up blocks - as Dave says you'll breeze through this in time.
When you've signed in go to the Homepage section, you'll see a section marked 'Setup' below are two images, one for PC the other for Mobile, click the PC one. I recall the first thing you have to choose is your column width (you can change this again if you're not happy) On my site I chose 100%, other examples are given - so you can experiment with this.
Once you've set that up you then come to your Homepage Layout Desktop, if you have installed blocks correctly they will show up further down this page under 'Installed Blocks'
In the image below is the text shown for my Column 1 box, it will give you an idea of what you have to do, compare this with my site (link below) so you can see the actual result. The numbers you see (30 & 70 and so on) are how I've apportioned my 100% width to each block.
So simply writing Forecast will automatically allocate that block 100% of the page width, but where I want two blocks side by side I would use this instead multipleBlock(stationData,30;images,70)
So you start off with saying this is a multipleblock, open bracket, the name of the block followed by a comma and the percentage width you want to allocate. Then a semicolon is used as a separator followed by the next block name and so on.
Don't forget to click 'Save' at the bottom, then you can review your Home page.
Jachym has made a detailed PDF guide on setting up your Homepage, here is the link: http://www.meteotemplate.com/web/wiki/blockGuide.pdf

Well thought I had things going, then all just went to hell.
Deleted everything off the web server, going to start again.
Hopefully I learned from my mistakes and well get it back up shortly.

Re: New Install issue
Well Jachym stepped in and it was semi working. Then died.
So I deleted everything, reset it up, and I am back to the cron job not running, even though my WEB server people swear it is.
Station is still OFF LINE.
I did manage to get most of my data imported from the WU.
Only thing I did was to use an existing database, going to retry tomorrow and let it set up a new one.
We shall see.

Hi Bob,
I emailed you. Yesterday the API was working, ending in "Success". Now I get "Page not found" - somebody or you has deleted the entire update page from your server
