Lost but not debased

Post by John B » Sun Sep 03, 2017 6:24 am

I've just moved the 'template' portion of my old site to a new address.

For some reason everything other than the interactive graph block seems to work.

I'm lost. Even downloading and reinstalling the block didn't help, even though it worked fine on the old site.

I am also sure that the answer is staring me in the face. Familiarity breeds stupidity.

The database seems to be correct and all the other blocks also seem to work properly.

What have I missed?

A small (hopefully) image of part of the database is attached.

The new address is http://www.johnsblaxlandweather.id.au

Cheers,
John

I would check if this block is using cache. If yes, clear the cache.
Btw. You better should convert your database to 5-minute samples.

Hi John,
there is a Javascript error caused by the apostrophe in your page name. This is something I know causes issues. It makes the block end the script immediately without even trying to load the graph and it is likely to cause problems with many other graphs.

The problem is in this:
John's Blaxland Reserve Weather
Try using this instead (change it in main settings)
John’s Blaxland Reserve Weather

Also as Luc pointed out, you need to reformat your db, dont use one-minute intervals, it will introduce inaccuracies to the statistics because the template assumes a 5-min db (not to mention that your page will be very slow over time)

Thanks, all.

That fixed it Jáchym, thanks a lot. I would never have worked out that in another full lifetime of head scratching.

The db I would swear I had done the conversion ages ago - in fact I remember doing it twice, as I couldn't recall whether I had done it at all (too lazy to go looking at the data base itself). :)

I shall now get about tidying up the main page.

Cheers,
John
